This is my first Azure certification. Passed with 841 score. Stunned by the level of questions, don’t underestimate this certification it’s little tricky. A big thanks to A Cloud Guru and Lars Klint for an Amazing course. Lar’s teaching is unique and sweet. I did his AZ-900 course last week. So I say doing just one course is not sufficient, according to my perspective. So, I will write here my exam preparation path and exam review. I have 2 years of AWS and 6 months of Azure and GCP experience, so I didn’t feel any difficulty with cloud concepts. They are same in any cloud. I started reading with the exam blueprint to understand what is the scope of AZ-900. Check this link it will have everything. Read what is AZ-900. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/az-900 Then I started with Microsofts free learning path which is nice. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/paths/azure-fundamentals/ Then I started with online courses. I will list out all the courses which I used. Trust me I have done all of them just to make sure I won’t miss any Azure basics or fundamentals. These will give a very high overview of Azure Fundamentals and it’s services. The real meat is with the below courses A cloud Guru’s AZ-900 course https://acloud.guru/learn/az-900-microsoft-azure-fundamentals Linux Academy’s AZ-900 course https://linuxacademy.com/course/microsoft-azure-fundamentals-az-900-exam-prep/ What I personally feel is for below certifications follow these people’s courses. AWS COURSES = A Cloud Guru Azure = Skylines Academy Nick Colyer Scott Duffy Alan Rodrigues Thomas Mitchell GCP = Qwiklabs and Coursera Hands-on is also must. Try to read the documentation to understand more about Azure, Microsoft’s documentation is super awesome always, a lot to read. If you are a multi-cloud guy you will have difficulty to match the services and their names initially. Coming to the exam I got 42 questions and 90 minutes time. I complete the exam 20 minutes and reviewed twice. In the start, there are 5 questions it asks about your level of knowledge about cloud and it’s concepts. Then the actual exam starts. I got true or false questions like 7 and they can’t be reviewed i.e you cant go back to review once you have marked and clicked next. You can do it for the rest of the questions. The pattern of the questions is pretty much straight forward but little tricky. If you do Whizlabs test papers you will be damn good in the exam. In fact, a couple of questions are straight from Whizlabs shhh.. don’t tell to anyone 😀 A lot of true or false questions, direct questions on what azure services you use for a specific purpose. They give like 3 options in question you have to select if the statement is yes or no. Also, there are some drag and drop questions (do the test papers you know what I mean) Stress more on when to use AAD, RBAC and Policies. Most of the questions are on Azure AD, Policies, RBAC, locks, Resource Groups. straight questions from support plans, and also read what service is used for what purpose, and read service definitions. Questions NSG where and how they are used, cloud service and deployment models, pricing of data in and out, storage accounts blobs, how to get the achieved data out of the archive, SLA’s VPN questions, CDN, Paas, Saas, Iaas scenario Avail Zone questions, compliance manager, Good luck with your exam feel free to email me if you need any help with AZ-900 preparation.
